Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
For Parents & Caregivers
What is behavior therapy, and how can it help my child?
Behavior therapy at Oak Health Center focuses on understanding why behaviors occur and teaching practical skills to support emotional regulation, communication, coping, and flexibility. Rather than simply managing behaviors, we work to address underlying needs and help children and teens develop skills that support long-term growth at home, school, and in the community.
Is this program only for children with an autism diagnosis?
No. While we do support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), our program also serves children and teens with ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, social difficulties, and other behavioral or developmental concerns. A formal diagnosis is not always required.
What makes Oak Health Center’s program different from other ABA or behavior therapy services?
Our services are led directly by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) rather than delivered through multiple rotating providers. This model reduces turnover, increases consistency, and ensures that assessment, intervention, and parent training are all guided by the same clinical expert. We also integrate ACT-informed strategies and family-centered care.
Will parents be involved in treatment?
Yes. Parent and family involvement is a core part of our program. Caregivers receive structured training and coaching to help them understand behavior, respond effectively, and support progress outside of sessions.
Where do services take place?
Services may take place in the clinic, home, community, or school settings depending on clinical need and treatment goals.
Insurance & Billing Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Oak Health Center works with select insurance plans and may offer both in-network and out-of-network services depending on coverage. Coverage varies by plan, diagnosis, and authorization requirements.
What if my insurance approval is still pending?
Families may choose to begin services privately while waiting for insurance approval. Options can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
What billing codes are typically used?
Behavior therapy services may include assessment, treatment planning, direct intervention, and caregiver training, each billed according to insurance requirements.
For Physicians, Schools, & Referral Partners
Who is a good referral for this program?
Children or teens with emotional regulation or behavioral challenges, neurodivergent individuals, families struggling with consistency or escalation, and clients needing coordinated care.
Do you collaborate with schools and other providers?
Yes. With appropriate consent, we collaborate with schools, pediatricians, psychiatrists, therapists, and other providers.
How can I make a referral?
Referrals can be made by contacting Oak Health Center directly. Our team will guide families through intake and next steps.
