Oak Health Center Founders Esther Park, DO and Mijin Park, PsyD Receive the Women Making a Difference Award

The Oak Health founders were honored by Supervisor Katrina Foley at the 2nd Annual Women Making a Difference Awards

Orange County, CA – March 29, 2023 – Oak Health Center, Southern California’s premier comprehensive mental health outpatient care organization, is pleased to announce that founders Dr. Esther Park and Dr. Mijin Park were selected to receive the 2023 Women Making a Difference Award. This award recognizes women storytellers whose contributions benefit our communities and pursue truth.

The Oak Health Center founders were honored in the social media category, for the work they’ve done through the Oak Health Foundation on its YouTube channel.  The foundation uses an integrative approach to reduce the stigma and prevalence of mental health disorders.

After thanking her staff and teams, Dr. Esther Park shared some remarks: “I am glad to have the opportunity to stand in front of all you in the community who recognize that the work we do is valuable because I think it is important for me to say: it is not enough. There is a tremendous need for mental healthcare in our communities. Our children, our friends, our families – there are so many who suffer in silence due to lack of access or lack of acceptance. I invite you all to consider this and join us – encourage those in our lives who may be struggling to find the support they need.”

Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley presented the awards and emphasized the importance of highlighting each awardee.  “I’m proud to celebrate esteemed women who care about others and understand that lifting up those in pain or struggling lifts up us all. Women empowering women builds stronger communities for everyone and I look forward to working together to make a difference in Orange County.”
