Reflecting on Summer: Community, Creativity, and Growth at Oak Health Center
As summer comes to a close, Oak Health Center is reflecting on the experiences that defined this season for our team, our patients, and our communities. With clinics in, Laguna Hills, Fullerton, Beverly Hills and South Pasadena, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized mental health care that combines the best of psychiatry and therapy. This summer was filled with creativity, connection, and growth—reminders of the holistic approach we bring to care.
Showcasing Creative Healing: Joyce Green’s (re)Location Exhibit
This year, Oak Health Center therapist Dr. Joyce Yip Green presented (re)Location: The Lao/Korean Acculturation Project, a moving art exhibit exploring the immigrant experience. Developed in collaboration with her colleague, Helen Kim, this project highlights the stories of Lao and Korean elders who immigrated to the U.S. in the 1970s and 1980s.
Through oral histories, cultural artifacts, and multimedia storytelling, the exhibit illuminates themes of identity, resilience, and belonging. First shown in Koreatown, Los Angeles and later in Clovis, CA (re)Location not only preserves history but also fosters intergenerational connection.
At Oak Health Center, we know that healing is multifaceted—Whether through psychiatry, therapy, or creative expression. Dr. Green’s work reminds us that mental health care can be deeply enriched by cultural awareness and artistic exploration.
Connecting with South Pasadena: SPEF’s Parti Gras Superhero Celebration
With our new South Pasadena clinic, Oak Health Center is thrilled to engage with our neighbors through events that strengthen community well-being. This May, we joined the South Pasadena Educational Foundation’s Parti Gras, a superhero-themed gala that brought together more than 1,000 attendees to raise funds for local schools.
Hosted at the Arroyo Seco Golf Course, the event was filled with food, music, dancing, live and silent auctions, and plenty of costumes. Beyond the fun, Parti Gras represents what we believe at Oak Health Center: thriving communities play a key role in mental wellness for children. By supporting local education, we are investing in the health and resilience of future generations.
Investing in Our Team: Beverly Hills and Orange County Staff Happy Hours
Our providers and staff in Beverly Hills work tirelessly to deliver expert psychiatric and therapeutic care. This summer, we hosted several staff happy hours to give our clinicians and support staff the chance to relax, connect, and celebrate their hard work.
Strong teams build strong care. By nurturing the well-being of our staff, we ensure that our patients receive the highest-quality psychiatry and therapy services—from medication management to psychotherapy to specialized programs like TMS and sleep coaching.
Refreshing Our South Pasadena Clinic
As part of our commitment to excellence, we’ve been updating our South Pasadena clinic to create a warm, welcoming environment for patients of all ages. We believe that healing starts the moment you walk through our doors. The updates we’ve made reflect the same compassion and professionalism that guide every aspect of our psychiatry and therapy services.
Celebrating Growth: Pre-Licensed Associate Therapists Program
Oak Health Center is proud to celebrate the success of our pre-licensed associate therapists program, which provides supervision and mentorship to early-career clinicians. This program not only strengthens the future of the mental health workforce, but also allows patients to access high-quality care at different stages of training.
Our program pairs associates with experienced psychiatrists and therapists in Beverly Hills and South Pasadena, ensuring a holistic approach that blends medical expertise with therapeutic support.
From creative exhibits to superhero fundraisers, from refreshing our clinics to supporting our staff and future clinicians, this summer was full of milestones for Oak Health Center. With thriving locations in Beverly Hills and South Pasadena, we remain committed to delivering comprehensive psychiatry, therapy, TMS, and sleep coaching to help patients and families heal and grow.
As we step into fall, we look forward to continuing this journey with you—offering compassionate, personalized care that supports both individuals and communities.
